EdTechTalk#66 – Upcoming Events, Global Learn Day & K-12 Online Conference

A conference-like EdTechTalk. The show started out with us talking about upcoming conferences-  a couple we’ll be speaking at and webcasting from and a couple  that folks will be tuning in to. We were visited by John Hibbs, who talked to us about Global Learn Day 10 and  Wes Fryer who told us about the K12 Online Conference.

Are you ready for some conferencing?

10/1/06 19:44:29 JenniferW: soooo cool

10/1/06 19:47:00 Sharon_Peters_(eebee1): That was going to be my question – how can I get my colleagues on board with this?

10/1/06 19:47:31 Sharon_Peters_(eebee1): apart from posting it as an email to them?

10/1/06 19:47:33 dave: i know my students (MEd) in the winter we’re very resistant to things like this

10/1/06 20:10:37 Sharon_Peters_(eebee1): I guess it hopped out one of those windows

10/1/06 20:10:41 wesleyfryer: they should host a skypecast instead

10/1/06 20:10:46 JenniferW: how many people can come into a skypecast at one time??

10/1/06 20:10:50 JenniferW: is there a limit??

10/1/06 20:15:10 JenniferW: could they use vyew???

10/1/06 20:15:16 JenniferW: there is a dial in option

10/1/06 20:15:24 wesleyfryer: i don’t think vyew supports the audio

10/1/06 20:15:45 JenniferW: i havne’t tried it — but there is a dial in option

10/1/06 20:23:47 JenniferW: LOL — tell us what you think Mr AT&T — hopefully you have job security!! 🙂

10/1/06 20:27:44 wesleyfryer: VOIP is an interesting topic to address for sure

10/1/06 20:28:12 wesleyfryer: my perception is that some companies who have been traditionally viewed as “phone companies” are reinventing themselves as data services companies

10/1/06 20:29:14 lee: ahhh yes

10/1/06 20:36:02 JenniferW: thanks for the chat — gotta run
