Thanks to Jennifer, Cathy, Lee, Cheryl and Brad for joining me for a special “mountain” edition of EdTechBrainstorm. Notwithstanding some audio “issues” (again!) we had a great conversation about conferences, upcoming shows on the Worldbridges network, and discussed the possibility of a New Year’s webcastathon. As always, watch this space for details.
Here’s some audio from tonight’s show. There’s much more than what’s here, but the remainder is in need of quite a bit of work to make it presentable. Thanks to Jeff and Dave for getting me going in the beginning and to all who joined in the ‘cast directly or via chat–hope to see you all again next week.
Podcast Academy Coverage – An Experiment in Mobile Webcasting
The 2nd Podcast Academy was held at Boston University on April 28 & 29. BU provided a high quality Real Video stream of presentations. During breaks, Jeff used his ‘mobile webcasting setup‘ to interview presenters and attendees while Doug anchored the stream in Victoria
Part One of this week’s Thursday night (in my time zone, at least) brainstorming session. This week we were joined by Ben from mrhazzard.com and had a great discussion about online collaboration and the power of technology to include students in our schools. As I said at the end of the audio linked here, mrhazzard’s students are lucky to have him for a teacher.
The show included a crash of the computer streaming the show, resulting in two parts. In Part One, Dave and Doug play on the SMART Ideas beta server. We hear from Tim and Lee about how they’re using technology in their classrooms with their students and discuss other ways in which pod- and webcasting might be used in music classes. Special thanks to Tim for his help in recovering the chat transcript lost when the streaming computer locked-up.
